The Leon and Rachel Museum Foundation, Inc. has been formed exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.

The purposes of the Foundation are:

1. To protect, maintain, and to insure the continued scientific and educational use of the collections, artifacts and displays which came to be possessed by Leon and Rachel Gathany during their lifetimes;
2. To ensure that such displays are viewable by the public, available for school and educational use, and accessible to scientists and professionals for scientific study;
3. To secure said collections, artifacts, and displays and redirect the use of said collections, artifacts, and displays in the event that said collections, artifacts and displays are diverted from the scientific, educational and charitable purposes set forth in these articles and in the will of Leon Gathany;
4. To own, fund, maintain, and operate a museum for the display of the collections and artifacts of Leon and Rachel Gathany.
